Grading System
Students will be tested and receive a letter grade after the completion of each theory course. Tests are typically graded during class, and results recorded on the student's individual grade sheet.
Students will be tested on their Basic Practical Operations at the end of the freshman class hours and upon evaluation by the Freshman Class Instructor and will be approved to graduate to work on the clinic floor.
Esthetician students will be assessed at 50% and 100% of their class attendance and receive a grade as outlined in the S.A.P. Students will receive a copy of their progress report upon the completion of each evaluation period.
- Letter Grades:
- •90% to 100% = "A" Excellent
- •80% to 89% = "B" Good
- •70% to 79% = "C" Average
- •60% to 69% = "D" Needs to Retake Test
- •0% to 59% = "F" Failed
Students need to retake all tests with scores below 70%. Students must maintain a "C" average for successful progression and graduation.
Overall grades are determined on the basis of the student's attitude and ability to perform elements of the course curriculum: approximately 25% written tests, 50% attendance, and 25% practical performance skills.
Students who meet the minimum for attendance and academic progress shall be considered to be making SATISFACTORY PROGRESS until the next scheduled evaluation. Students who do not meet such requirements shall be deemed to be either (1) Under Warning (2) Not Making Satisfactory Progress/On Probation.
